My name is Randy Jackson, and I've been a comics fan since I was about five.

I would hardly call myself an expert. I have a certain amount of knowledge and I've spent a fair amount of time studying and researching the subjects of interest to me, but I don't think I really know anything more than any other fan boy.

My opinion is just that; my opinion. It is not better than yours, nor should you listen to me if you disagree with what I'm saying. I'm frequently wrong, and occasionally change my opinion given hindsight.

I like lots of different types of comics; I like some war comics, offbeat independent comics, comics about romance, etc. However, my main thrust is superhero comics, and that's mostly what I review.

I'm not a fan of comics where mysticism is the primary focus and impetus of the comic. Nor am I a fan of Sword and Sorcery. I don't like comics like Dr. Strange, Conan, most of CrossGen's output, etc.

I also dislike comics that are mindless slugfests as well, although those can be fun on occasion. Also, while I don't mind looking at scantily clad women, I'm tired of seeing that cliché, particularly in comics.

This is a pretty simple one; I review the comics I buy, with the exception of back issues and trade paperbacks. If I do come across a really good graphic novel, I'll review it as well.

Because I don't buy said title. If various comics companies want me to review their comics, they should send me copies for that purpose (hint, hint).

I'd be happy to. I am strongly in support of self-publishing, and I'll be happy to do a review for you. Just send me a copy.

Please be aware, however, that I will be honest about my feelings, so if you don't want to know, don't ask.

Certainly. Here's the breakdown:

• Kid Friendly - This is a comic that I would have no problems giving to someone ten years of age or younger.
• Adult Themes - This is a comic that I would have reservations giving to a younger child. Usually for reasons of extreme violence, adult language, or nudity.
• Mature Readers - This is a comic that should be reserved for adults only. Usually it revolves around themes of a highly sexual manner, or depicts truly extreme violence, or both.

Please be aware, however, that these guidelines are merely my suggestions. I believe that it's up to parents to decide what content is or is not appropriate for their children.
